An official Product Safety NZ notice concerns Adairs - Cooper Timber Cot. There is an increased risk of a child falling from the cot, potentially resulting in serious injury. The recommended mattress thickness is detailed incorrectly on the label and when a mattress thicker than 10cm is used and the cot base is in upper position the distance between the top of the mattress and the top of the cot guard rail is less than the minimum distance required by the Product Safety Standards (Household Cots) Regulations 2005. Some edges on the top guard rail are also not rounded enough as to comply with the Product Safety Standards (Household Cots) Regulations 2005 and may pose a risk of injury if a child bumps against the top guard rail.
