An official Product Safety NZ notice concerns 2L Hot Water Bottles- sold at Bargain Chemist. Bargain Chemist is recalling 2L hot water bottles because the bottle may leak, split or rupture when filled with hot water. Escaping hot water can cause serious burns or scalding. Bargain Chemist was advised by the Commerce Commission that a consumer had suffered burns when using one of the hot water bottles Published 2026-09-11.
What to do now
Stop using the hot water bottle immediately and keep it out of reach of children.Return it to any Bargain Chemist store for a full refund.If the product was purchased online or cannot be returned to a store, contact Bargain Chemist Customer Care.
