An official EU Safety Gate notice concerns Premium Tattoo Ink. The product has an excessive concentration of lead (measured value: 6.1 mg/kg). Lead is harmful to human health, accumulates in the body, can cause developmental neurotoxicity (only if exposure to children expected) and may affect breast-fed or unborn children. The product contains benzyl alcohol, but the presence is not indicated in the list of ingredients. Consumers are not aware of their presence, and may suffer allergic reactions or skin sensitisation. The product contains methylisothiazolinone (MI), which is prohibited in leave-on products. MI causes severe skin burns and eye damage (if in contact with the eyes), and may cause an allergic skin reaction. The product has an excessive concentration of benzisothiazolinone (measured value: 0.01 % by weight). Benzisothiazolinone causes skin irritation and may cause an allergic skin reaction. The product has an excessive concentration of diethylene glycol (DEG). Diethylene glycol can be lethal as it acutely harms kidneys and the nervous system when swallowed or in contact with the skin. The product does not comply with the REACH Regulation nor with the Regulation on the classification, labelling and packaging of substances and mixtures (CLP). Published 2026-05-22.
