An official EU Safety Gate notice concerns Renault - Austral. The ABS-ESP control unit may have been incorrectly programmed by the supplier, preventing detected failures from being communicated to the vehicle dashboard. As a result, if the braking control system fails, the driver may not receive a warning that the following functions are unavailable: emergency brake assist, anti-lock braking system (ABS), electronic stability programme (ESP), automatic emergency braking (AEB), hydraulic brake booster (HBB), and hydraulic braking compensation (HBC), increasing the risk of an accident.
