An official EU Safety Gate notice concerns Electrical storage radiator - Elkatherm Elektroheizung mit Einbauthermostat (Elkatherm electric radiator with built-in thermostat) ELKAtherm. The product poses a risk of fire because the thermostat ceases to operate and "gets stuck" at high ambient temperatures and the product is no longer protected against overheating. The investigations led to the conclusion that, in the worst possible case, the thermostat could catch fire as a result of overheating of the built-in thermostat relay (radiator accessory).The product does not comply with the Low Voltage Directive (LVD) and the relevant European standards EN 60335 and EN 50366.
