Critical riskEU Safety Gate

An official EU Safety Gate notice concerns Ds Automobiles - Ds8. The front main wiring harness may come into contact with a metal earthing stud because, following a design harmonisation change, PHEV/BEV vehicles were not fitted with the protective cap used on the MHEV version. Over time, vehicle vibrations could damage the harness insulation, allowing the wires to touch the earthing stud and cause a short circuit. This may lead to a loss of electrical functions and overheating of the wires, increasing the risk of a thermal incident or fire. The product does not comply with the Regulation on the approval and market surveillance of motor vehicles and their trailers, and of systems, components and separate technical units intended for such vehicles. Published 2026-08-28.
