An official Health Canada notice concerns Western Star - Daimler truck north america. Issue: on certain trucks, the recall repairs completed by a daimler truck north america (dtna) dealer during recall f1020 (transport canada recall no. 2025-269) may not be effective. As a result, a second repair is required. On certain trucks, the stud on the frame that connects the battery and/or auxiliary power distribution to the starter may not have been installed properly. As a result, there could be a short circuit, and the wiring could overheat and melt. Note: this recall replaces transport canada recall no. 2025-269. Vehicles that were repaired under that recall also require this repair. Safety risk: a short circuit and/or wiring that overheats and melts can create the risk of a fire. Corrective actions: daimler truck north america (dtna) will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your truck to a dtna authorized service facility to remove the stud and relocate the jump start connection.
