An official Health Canada notice concerns Ultraview dm3 monitor. The lithium-ion battery used in the DM3 is susceptible to failure and overheating when used beyond its recommended lifetime or otherwise damaged. This is due to a short in the battery with indeterminant cause, but likely attributed to use beyond service life, overcharging, or damage to the battery. Batteries known to be older than two years or batteries that are no longer holding a charge should be replaced. Damaged batteries must be replaced immediately.
