An official Health Canada notice concerns Toyota. Issue: On certain vehicles, the upper universal joint on the intermediate steering shaft may not have been manufactured properly and could break. As a result, the steering shaft could separate from the universal joint and cause a loss of steering. Safety Risk: A loss of steering could create the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Toyota will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the intermediate steering shaft. Published 2024-11-28.
