Critical riskHealth Canada

An official Health Canada notice concerns Toyota. On certain vehicles, clearance between the clamp on the power steering pressure hose and the brake tube for the left rear brake may be insufficient. If the vehicle is continuously operated in this condition, the hose clamp may wear a hole in the brake tube resulting in brake fluid leakage. In such case the brake pedal stroke will increase and stopping distance may be degraded which could result in a crash causing property damage, personal injury or death. Correction: Dealers will inspect and replace the brake tube. Published 2011-02-14.
