Watch Tiffin

An official Health Canada notice concerns Tiffin. On certain vehicles, the compliance label does not contain the correct Gross Axle Weight Rating (GAWR) for the front axle. The label incorrectly indicates a GVWR of 17,000 lbs on 45 foot buses and 16,600 lbs on on 37 and 40 foot buses. The correct GAWR would be 16,000 lbs and 15,000 lbs, respectively. Incorrect GAWR could cause the vehicle to be overloaded, which would result in poor vehicles handling characteristics, increasing the risk of a crash causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Updated labels will be mailed to owners of affected vehicles, along with instructions for proper installation. Published 2015-01-09.
