An official Health Canada notice concerns Suzuki. On certain ATVs, the flame arrestor screen (located between the throttle body and the air cleaner) may flex due to air movement and pressure changes during vehicle operation. This could create metal fatigue and cracking of the screen, which could cause the screen to break loose from its mounting ring and enter the body throttle valve, preventing the throttle from fully returning to the idle position when the throttle lever is released. If the throttle does not return to idle position, the rider could loose control of the vehicle, which may result in a crash causing property damage, personal injury or death. Correction: Dealers will replace the flame trap with an updated version. Published 2011-02-16.
