An official Health Canada notice concerns Startrans. On certain school buses equipped with Freedman seat barriers, the barrier for leg protection was manufactured using the wrong gauge of material and fails to comply with Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (CMVSS) 222 - School Bus Passenger Seating and Crash Protection. In the event of a crash, the seat occupant(s) may not be adequately protected, increasing the risk of personal injury or death. Correction: Dealers will install a barrier foam retrofit kit.
