An official Health Canada notice concerns Rivian. Issue: on certain vehicles, the second-row outboard seat belt retractor(s) may not have been installed properly. As a result, the seat belts could loosen or detach in a crash. Safety risk: a seat belt that detaches in a crash could increase the risk of injury. Corrective actions: to reduce the safety risk, rivian recommends that you shouldn't transport passengers in the second-row outboard seats until the recall repairs are completed. Rivian will notify owners by email and advise you to take your vehicle to a rivian service center to inspect and, if necessary, secure the seat belt retractor(s). Published 2026-01-27.
