An official Health Canada notice concerns RAM - Fiat chrysler automobiles. On certain vehicles, the specified nominal volume of 2.1L (71 oz) of lube oil in the rear axle may not prove sufficient. As such the vehicle could experience a noise (growl, grind) from the rear axle bearing, which could eventually seize. This could result in a crash causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will install a rear axle pinion bearing fluid drain-back flow restrictor and a new axle cover with a revised fluid fill level access hole. Published 2011-04-01.
