Medium riskHealth Canada

An official Health Canada notice concerns Prevost. On certain vehicles, the accelerator pedal throttle position sensor could fail. A faulty throttle position sensor will send a permanent idle signal to the Engine Control Unit (ECU). As such, depressing the accelerator pedal will provide no throttle response whatsoever. Loss of vehicle propulsion, in conjunction with traffic and road conditions, and the driver’s reactions, could increase the risk of a crash causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will replace the accelerator pedal throttle position sensor. Published 2012-06-28.
