An official Health Canada notice concerns Porsche. Issue: On certain Boxster GTS 4.0 and Cayman GTS 4.0 models, the rear vehicle electronics control unit may not have been programmed correctly during production. As a result, the rear spoiler may be too high and block the high-mounted stop lamp. This problem could also lead to poor handling. Safety Risk: A high-mounted stop lamp that is blocked may cause others not to recognize when the vehicle is braking. Additionally, poor handling could cause a loss of control. Both issues could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Porsche will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to reprogram the rear vehicle electronics control unit. Published 2023-12-13.
