An official Health Canada notice concerns Naloxone take home kits by canadian hospital specialties ltd.. The product contains the naloxone drug. The monograph for these drug products indicates that it should be re-administered in 2-3 minutes after the first dose whereas the save me card included in this kit for training purposes does not align with this re-administration time. As this is conflicting information and can cause confusion, we will revise the insert to reflect the 2-3 min requirement per the drug monograph. Update: It is important to note that these NTH Kits are not being removed from the Canadian market so as not to disrupt access to naloxone, a potentially life-saving drug.
