An official Health Canada notice concerns MINI - Bmw. On certain vehicles, seat cushion parts installed in the front passenger seat as service replacement parts may have been incorrectly calibrated. This could cause the occupant classification system to misinterpret the stature of the seat occupant, which could result in the airbag not deploying when warranted, increasing the risk of injury. Correction: Dealers will inspect the front passenger seat cushion and occupant classification mat, and replace if necessary. Note: Should this occur, vehicle occupants would be alerted of a problem by the "PASSENGER AIRBAG OFF" warning light illuminating. Published 2016-01-04.
