An official Health Canada notice concerns MINI - Bmw. Certain vehicles may fail to comply with the requirements of CMVSS 108 - Lighting System and Retroreflective Devices. The bumper embedded rear inner brake lights turn off when the turn signal light is applied, contrary to requirements of the standard. This could be confusing to a road user located behind the vehicle during simultaneous braking and signalling, which could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will reprogram the vehicle to correct the non-compliance. Published 2017-04-07.
