Medium riskHealth Canada

An official Health Canada notice concerns Mercedes-benz. Issue: On a small number of vehicles, the engine compartment firewall may not be sealed correctly. This could allow water to leak inside the vehicle. If this happens, electrical components could short circuit. This could also affect the Pre-Safe system or cause the vehicle not to start. Note: If this issue is present in your vehicle, you may notice wet carpets in the driver or passenger footwell and fogged windows. Safety Risk: A short circuit could cause emergency systems not to work, which could increase the risk of injuries in a crash. Corrective Actions: Mercedes-Benz will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealership to reseal the front wall. Published 2023-04-11.
