Critical riskHealth Canada

An official Health Canada notice concerns Mercedes-benz. On certain AMG S63 models, the engine may stall due to faulty software in the Engine Control Unit (ECU). Irregular RPM at idle could lead to unintentional engine shut-down prior to a vehicle stop. If this occurs, the driver may falsely interpret the unintentional engine shut down as part of the ECO start/stop system, which could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will update the ECU Software. Published 2019-07-23.
