An official Health Canada notice concerns Mercedes-benz. On certain vehicles, the Bowden cables between the inner door handles and door locks may be defective. If the vehicle is involved in a crash, the force required to open the door locks might be increased, causing the Bowden cables to break when using the inside handles to unlock the doors. If this occurs, it would be impossible to unlock and open the doors using the inside handles making it difficult for the occupants to exit the vehicle, which would increase the risk of injury. Correction: Dealers will replace the Bowden cables on all four doors. Published 2019-01-28.
