An official Health Canada notice concerns Mazda. On certain vehicles, the ball joint socket area on the front lower control arm may become cracked due to an inappropriate manufacturing process of the ball joint. If a large load is applied to the suspension while driving, the ball joint may suddenly separate from the socket, which could result in a loss of steering control, increasing the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will replace the lower control arms with modified parts. Published 2017-06-07.
