Medium riskHealth Canada

An official Health Canada notice concerns Maserati. On certain vehicles, the driver side floor mat anchors could break over time which could allow the floor mat to slide forward and potentially allowing the accelerator to become stuck in the wide open position. A fully depressed accelerator pedal may result in very high vehicle speeds and make it difficult to slow or stop the vehicle. This could result in a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will replace the driver side floor mat and possibly the accelerator pedal cover. Published 2016-03-02.
