An official Health Canada notice concerns Lexus - Toyota. On certain vehicles, if the driver's all-weather floor mat is not secured by the retaining clips, or is placed on top of an existing carpeted floor mat, the mat could move forward and interfere with the accelerator pedal. If this occurs, the accelerator pedal could become stuck in the wide open position. A fully depressed accelerator pedal may result in very high vehicle speeds and make it difficult to slow or stop the vehicle. This could result in a crash causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will modify or replace the accelerator pedal, as well as the genuine Lexus all-weather floor mat. Note: This is an expansion of recall 2009359 for vehicles not previously included in the campaign. Published 2011-05-04.
