Medium riskHealth Canada

An official Health Canada notice concerns Lexus - Toyota. On certain vehicles equipped with Vehicle Dynamics Integrated Management (VDIM), the calibration for the hydraulic control valves was incorrectly written and programmed into the brake actuator electronic control unit. As such, the right front wheel could lock during Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) or Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) actuation. This could result in increased stopping distances and/or failure to adequately correct excessive vehicle yaw, which could result in a crash causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will replace the brake actuator assembly with an updated version. Published 2011-08-25.
