An official Health Canada notice concerns Kia. On certain vehicles, the brake pedal mount could fail during a vehicle crash. As a result, the driver would not be able stop a vehicle still in motion after a crash by applying the brakes. This could cause a second vehicle crash, which could result in additional property damage and/or personal injury. Note: the vehicle could be immobilized by using the parking brake or slowed by shifting the transmission into Neutral. Correction: Dealers will replace the brake pedal mount. Published 2012-06-20.
