An official Health Canada notice concerns Jayco. On certain travel trailers, the safety chain installed during the A frame manufacturing process have a load rating of 11 700 lbs. When the correct load rating of the safety chain should be 16 200 lbs. Underrated safety chains may break under normal use, increasing the risk of trailer separation from the tow vehicle which would increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will replace the 11 700 lbs safety chains with some 16 200 lbs safety chains. Published 2020-10-14.
