An official Health Canada notice concerns Genesis - Hyundai. Issue: On certain vehicles, the automatic locking retractor (ALR) feature on the passenger-front seat belt may not work properly. As a result, the seat belt could remain locked after use. If this happens, a passenger may not be able to use the seat belt. Safety Risk: Not wearing a seat belt can increase the risk of injury in a crash. Corrective Actions: Hyundai will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect the passenger-front seat belt, and replace it if necessary.
