An official Health Canada notice concerns Fiat chrysler automobiles. Issue: On certain plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEV), a wiring connector inside the transmission could short circuit. As a result, the engine could shut down and cause a sudden loss of power to the wheels. Safety Risk: A sudden loss of power to the wheels could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: FCA will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealership to update the power inverter module (PIM) and, if necessary, update the instrument panel cluster software.
