An official Health Canada notice concerns Egm - essential gas module. Philips has identified a potential safety issue for the 866173 IntelliVue G7m anesthesia gas modules, which could have a component issue that may trigger an interruption of the gas measurement. This issue concerns the G7m's sample gas pump which could stop working, producing a technical, inop (inoperable) alarm. It was anticipated that the expected operating lifetime of the pump was at least 10000 hours. However, based on testing, the average operating lifetime was found to be 4500 hours. The pump may fail prematurely when there is friction caused by an abrasion. Recall restart date: February 14, 2023 Published 2024-12-05.
