An official Health Canada notice concerns Cooper tire. Certain tires may have been manufactured with the incorrect belt rubber compound. This could cause poor adhesion of the rubber to the belt wires which could lead to a separation of the tread and cause tire failure. If the tread were to separate while a vehicle is in motion, it could cause a loss of vehicle control, which would increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Dealers will replace affected tires. Published 2017-12-22.
