An official Health Canada notice concerns Commander - Golden west trailer. Certain semi-trailers were equipped with a Michel's Industries Select or Maximizer Sideroll tarp system which may contain defective Universal Joints. The U-Joint cross pin may not be a tight fit and, as such, could become loose and fall out, which would cause the tarp to be improperly secured. An improperly secured tarp can fall from the trailer and strike another vehicle, stationary object, or bystander, causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Michel's Industries will contact owners and supply them with U-Joint inspection procedures. If the U-joint is found to be the potentially defective type, owners will be provided with updated replacement parts. Published 2011-03-24.
