An official Health Canada notice concerns Coachmen - Forest river. Issue: A small number of RV trailers may have been built with a hitch coupler rated for 6350 kg (14000 lb.), when it should have one that is rated for 9525 kg (21000 lb.). As a result, the hitch coupler could be overloaded and fail. Safety Risk: A hitch coupler that fails could cause the trailer to detach from the tow vehicle and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: None of the affected trailers have been delivered to customers. Forest River will instruct dealers to replace the hitch coupler before the trailers are delivered.
