An official Health Canada notice concerns Chevrolet - General motors. Issue: this recall is for certain transfer case assemblies installed during production on certain new vehicles or sold as a replacement part. On a small number of trucks, the transfer case assembly may not have been manufactured properly. As a result, the transfer case could fail and cause the front and/or rear wheels to lock up while driving. Note: this recall only affects trucks equipped with four-wheel drive (4wd) or all-wheel drive (awd). This recall affects transfer case part number 87842227. Safety risk: front and/or rear wheels that lock suddenly could cause a loss of control and increase the risk of a crash. General motors will notify owners by mail and advise you to contact a dealership to arrange for an inspection and, if necessary, a transfer case assembly replacement. Published 2026-05-25.
