An official Health Canada notice concerns Chevrolet - General motors. On certain Express and Savana 2500, 3500 and 4500 vehicles equipped with a 145 Amp alternator, a low resistance short could develop within the voltage regulator. In some cases, if the circuit does not open, the low resistance short could eventually generate enough heat to result in an engine compartment fire causing property damage or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will inspect and, if necessary, replace alternator. Note: This recall supersedes recall 2010106. Published 2011-02-15.
