An official Health Canada notice concerns Chevrolet - General motors. On certain HD model trucks equipped with an Allison A1000 Transmission, the dash display may not indicate the selected gear if the transmission shift lever is in the "1" position. If the driver is not aware of the position of the shift lever and attempts to accelerate only in first gear, it could increase the possibility of a crash without prior warning, which could result in properly damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will reflash the transmission control module. Published 2014-01-10.
