An official Health Canada notice concerns Chevrolet - General motors. Certain vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 135 - Brake Systems. One of the parking brake cables may not have been installed correctly, which would result in the parking brake being operational on one rear wheel only, causing a reduction in parking brake performance and causing the vehicle to fail to meet the requirements of the standard. This could result in unintended vehicle movement, increasing the risk of a crash causing injury and/or property damage. Correction: Dealers will inspect, and if necessary, re-install the park brake cable. Published 2014-09-26.
