An official Health Canada notice concerns Bissell brand steam shot™ omnireach™ and steam shot™ omni steam cleaner attachments recalled. The attachments for the steam cleaners can unexpectedly detach from the steam cleaners and expel hot water or steam onto users during use, posing a burn hazard. As of March 19, 2026, the company has received 1 report of hot water or steam unexpectedly escaping from the attachments in Canada, resulting in 1 reported burn injury. In the United States, the company has received 205 reports of hot water or steam unexpectedly escaping from the attachments, including 160 reports of burn injuries. Published 2026-04-09.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled products and contact BISSELL to receive free new attachments. Consumers should visit www.steamshot2026.com to register for the recall and for instructions on how to participate in the recall, including how to upload a photo showing proof of disposal of the affected products. Joint recall with Health Canada, the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (US CPSC) and BISSELL Canada Corporation. Please note that the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act prohibits recalled products from being redistributed, sold or even given away in Canada. Health Canada would like to remind consumers to report any health or safety incidents related to the use of this product or any other consumer product or cosmetic by filling out the Consumer Product Incident Report Form.
