An official Health Canada notice concerns Altec industries. Certain aerial devices and digger derricks, installed on utility service vehicles (to elevate personnel in order to facilitate working on overhead service lines, for tree trimming, etc.) were manufactured using high strength fasteners that may fail due to stress corrosion cracking. Failure of the fasteners could result in uncontrolled movement or separation of the pedestal from the turntable, potentially resulting in serious injury or death. Correction: Dealers will replace the affected fasteners. Published 2022-05-03.
