An official ACCC notice concerns WILHELM MAASS ASTM A350 LF2 Class 1 Flanges. If a brittle fracture occurs due to an external stress whilst in use, fluid leakage may occur. It is noted, however, that any specific hazard is application dependent. Published 2013-07-30.
What to do now
Consumers are urged to: 1. Quarantine any stocked inventory; and 2. Undertake a review of the products as used in current operations and perform a risk assessment as to whether any controls are required to ensure the safety of personnel and plant MRC will accept return of unused items on behalf of Wilhelm Maass. These items should be returned to the nearest MRC warehouse location in return for a full refund of replacement item
