Laminex is in the process of contacting all end-users either directly or, where customers prefer to do so, through the identified customers. Where end-users have Fireguard installed in circumstances where fire resistance is relevant, then they will be afforded the option of having that material replaced by Laminex with a suitable fire resistant alternative (pending availability).

Fireguard is used in carpentry and interior fit-out in the same way as standard MDF. Fireguard is a specialty medium density fibreboard available in two colours (Standard Red (12, 16 and 18mm thickness) and Black (16 and 18mm thickness)) and a standard 2400mm X 1200mm sheet size. Fireguard is also manufactured to achieve a Group 1 fire retardant rating in accordance with AS/NZS 3837.
