An official ACCC notice concerns Surly 8 Pack and 24 Pack Bicycle Racks. If the Rack falls into the path of the bicycle or contacts the front wheel while the bicycle is being ridden, it may result in the rider losing control and pose an increased accident or injury risk. Published 2019-12-19.
What to do now
Consumers should immediately cease using the Rack by removing it from their bicycle or returning the bicycle to the place of purchase for assistance in removing the Rack. The consumer's place of purchase will repair the Rack by installing a Security Hardware Kit, free of charge.
