An official ACCC notice concerns Subaru MY2010–2014 Liberty & Outback - extended recall. In the event that a defective airbag inflator ruptures, metal fragments may propel out through the airbag cushion towards the vehicle occupants causing serious injury or fatality. Published 2017-04-07.

Owners of affected vehicles should contact their local Subaru dealership or Subaru head office directly via the website at https://www.subaru.com.au/contact-us to arrange for a replacement airbag inflator free of charge. Consumers who are unsure whether they are affected can also use Subaru's VIN look-up tool at https://www.subaru.com.au/recall or contact Subaru on 1300 550 994 or contact their preferred dealer.
