An official ACCC notice concerns “Rothenberger” and “Super Ego” Brand MAP Pro Gas Cylinder. The defect will result in leakage of gas from the cylinder, creating a risk of fire or explosion. Published 2011-12-22.
What to do now
Consumers should immediately stop using the cylinder and any torch to which the cylinder is attached. Any partially used cylinders should immediately be vented/purged outdoors in a well-ventilated, remote area in accordance with standard industry safety procedures. Emptied and new/unused cylinders should be returned to the place of purchase for replacement or full refund of the purchase price.
