What to do now
STOP USING YOUR RIFLE. Any unintended discharge has the potential to cause injury or death. Immediately cease use of recalled rifles. DO NOT attempt to diagnose or repair recalled rifles. Remington proposes to replace XMP triggers in all affected rifles free of charge. 50 Australian Service Centres have been established for the replacement of consumer triggers. The complete list of Service Centres, together with contact details, are set out in the notice to consumers attached.
