An official ACCC notice concerns Radio-controlled Electric 2WD Hobby Cars 1:10 Scale - ECX Desert Buggy, ECX Monster Truck, ECX Brutus and Slipper Pad Spare Parts. What to do now
Owners of affected vehicles must not attempt to remove or replace the slipper pads or disassemble and maintain their vehicles. Affected vehicles should be returned to their place of purchase. Retailers will send the vehicles to a centralised repair facility, where the slipper pads will be removed and replaced by a technician who is qualified to safely work with asbestos-containing materials. Vehicles will then be returned to their owners or to the place of purchase for returning to the owners. If your vehicle was bought second-hand, your place of purchase is no longer in business or you do not remember where you purchased the vehicle, you should contact OMP for further instructions.
