An official ACCC notice concerns MTD Products Australia Pty Ltd – Kawasaki engines in Hustler lawn mowers - Updated remedy. There is risk of fire, serious injury or death and/or damage to property if the voltage regulator malfunctions in affected Kawasaki general purpose engines. Published 2024-01-29.
What to do now
Consumers should: Stop using their affected mower until it has been repaired. Disconnect the negative battery cable and secure it away from the negative battery post. If you are unsure on how to disconnect the battery, please contact your local Hustler dealer . Contact MTD Products to register for a repair. Repairs are expected to commence from mid-March 2024 when replacement voltage regulators become available.
