An official ACCC notice concerns Mercedes-Benz MY 2012-2015 C Class Passenger Cars. In the event that a defective passenger airbag inflator ruptures, metal fragments may propel out through the airbag cushion towards the vehicle occupants causing serious injury or fatality. Published 2018-10-23.

Consumers who are unsure whether they are affected can also use the Mercedes-Benz VIN look-up tool at https://recall.mercedes-benz.com.au/ or phoning Mercedes-Benz on 1300 659 307 (between 8.30am and 5pm), or by emailing takata_au@daimler.com or contacting their preferred dealer.
